Q. How do lasers work?

A. Laser hair removal is a fast, gentle way to remove unwanted hair, with lasting results.  By emitting light energy, the pigment within the hair follicles absorb the light. It is converted to heat , which loosens the hair, and disables the cells. This destroys the possibility of new hair growth, without damaging the skin.

Q. Is it suitable for everyone?

A. Tracy can customize the treatment which relates to your skin type and hair colour. Men and women can now enjoy freedom from hair is areas such as bikini, underarms, back, chest, and face.

Q. What about side effects?

A. The energy emitted by the laser is used in a range of medical and cosmetic procedures and is proven to be safe. Most people experience no side effects at all, although some develop short-term reddening. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately, although they must wear sunscreen for 4 weeks prior to and following treatment.

Q. How many treatments are necessary?

A. The number of treatments varies depending on the texture, location, and color of the hair.  Expect 6-8 treatments, spaced 6 weeks apart, to capture the next phase of hair growth. Shaving or clipping hair in between treatments is allowed. (no waxing or plucking)

Q. How is pricing determined for laser hair removal?

A. You would be surprised how affordable it is for permanent hair removal! Pricing is determined on the amount of area to be lasered. For example: Two underarms $140 per visit. When a person books a package of seven treatments, you save 25%. on the price.

This includes freckles, rosacea, broken capillaries, dark spots and enlarged pores. Photo facial rejuvenation is the only non invasive procedure that can treat these imperfections, while encouraging the production of collagen, all in the same treatment.  This Intense Pulsed Light (I .P.L.) treatment can be delivered in a single session, or in a series.

Q. What is Microdermabrasion?

A. This is a skin resurfacing technique to improve fine lines, pigmentation and acne scaring.  It creates a smoother more even texture, resulting in a luminescence glow to your skin.  Most patients repeat this procedure every 2 weeks, with optimum results after 6 treatments.

Q. What is a dermal filler such as Restylene or Juvederm?

A. These injectables act to “plump” out smile lines, enhance the lips, smooth out fine vertical lip lines, and soften wrinkles between the brows.  The treatment usually involves freezing the area for about 20 minutes, after which normal activity can resume.  Results and re-treatment expectations are similar to Botox.

Questions about Botox

Q. How does Botox work?

A. Frown lines between you eyebrows, as well as crows feet form over time as the result of muscle activity.  Botox is injected directly into the muscles between your brows.  It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This relaxes the muscle, thus reducing the activity of the muscles.
When Botox is used for excessive sweating, or for the treatment of migraines, it acts to reduce activity in those muscles, there by relaxing those muscles also.

Q. How long will my Botox treatment last?

A. Up to 4 months for the first visit. Subsequent visits last 6-8 months. If treatment is discontinued, the lines will eventually reappear, as the muscle is no longer relaxed.

Q. When will I see the results of the Botox treatment?

A. You will see an immediate improvement within the first 10 days. The patient should be re-assessed at the 2-3 month mark, to assure cumulative effectiveness.

Q. Is the Botox treatment painful?

A. Discomfort is minimal and brief.  Before injecting, your practitioner may numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream.  The procedure takes about 20 minutes and you can return to your regular activity as soon as it is done.

Q.What is a botox treatment like?

A. The procedure is very simple. A small volume of the drug is injected by a very fine needle intradermally to the affected area. That means the needle is placed just under the skin, and the discomfort is minimal. Most patients report that is is very tolerable but you can also opt for some local anaesthetic cream if you are really concerned about needle

Q. Is botox safe for the treatment of hyperhidrosis?

A. Botox is very safe. For the treament of excessive underarm sweating, the only drug-related side effect is a perceived increase in sweating in other parts of the body, which happens in only 4.5% of patients..

Q. How does botox work for hyperhidrosis sufferers?

A. Botox works by blocking the chemical signal from the nerve to the target tissue, which in the case of hyperhidrosis is the sweat gland. As the sweat gland is no longer stimulated by the overactive nerve, the sweating stops. Since the drug only works in the area it is injected, sweat glands in other parts of the body function normally. There is no risk of getting overheated.

Q. Is botox effective for Hyperhidrosis?

A. Botox is highly effective. In a clinical study that involved 240 patients with excessive underarm sweating, 95% of patients responded to the treatment with an average of 83% in one week. The effect is also long lasting. On an average, each treatment will effectively reduce sweating approximately 7 months.

Q. Isthere any reason why i should not have a botox treatment?

A. You should not have a Botox treatment if you have conditions requiring special care:
  • You are allergic to Botox or anything in the preparation.
  • You suffer from a neuromuscular disease
  • you have an infection at the intended site of the injection

You should also take special care if you are taking antibiotics which may interfere with neuromuscular transmission. Make sure you tell us if you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant soon or are nursing a baby.
